Is a family farm in Suffolk County that's been scaring people for nearly 30 years. A Long Island classic for sure. And the fourth generation family has made the Schmidt's farm haunt even bigger. Making it a must do this time of year. Here's our Angela Cascarano with this week's road trip. Close to home on this week's road trip. Close to home, we check out Smith's Farm Haunt. One of the spookiest and scariest haunted houses. Let's go. I'm not one for class. Definitely not, not one like that either. Right. Oh, my God. I might have nightmares. You go through some really spooky twists and turns through the haunts and now we're entering the clown maze. No. Think I've seen enough here. I'm good tickets include the Haunt, the haunted 3d experience and the corn trail. We're going to check that out right now. I'm a little scared. It's not just the spooky haunt that you can check out, pick a pumpkin, go on a pony ride, play on the playground, even walk through the corn maze. What's a better way to mark Pumpkin season than for an adventure to a world of glowing Jack O'lantern. Oh, this is so exciting news trolls, Nikita Ramos takes us there on this week's road trip close to home for the first time ever. A world of Pumpkins is carved just for you to experience right here at Clover Stadium in Pomona. Pumpkin World is the inaugural season here in Rockland and it's about just getting into the whole pumpkin season vibe. We have so many amazing things. There's something for everyone. Pumpkin world is where the stadium's field and concourse are completely transformed into about a half mile trail. It's a journey of 5000 hand carved Jack O Lanterns that light your path, dozens of different scenes. So be on the lookout for some familiar characters. And it's all thanks to about 20 Hudson Valley artists and the talented production team who put these designs together. Some of these spaces can take like eight hours, just the car of one pumpkin and then we have these like dinosaurs which are huge, which might take a week to be able to carve. It's a project of art and love and ingenuity and passion. That's not all, there's also a whole pumpkin village. It's where the interactive scavenger hunt begins. And it's just one of the ways where you are part of the fun. Go and watch the talented artists carve in real time like Bill and Emily then join and become their judge at the car. And here at the pumpkin patch, you can take a piece of this experience back home with you on this road trip. Close to home in Pomona, Nikita Ramos is 12.

Well, one man's love for the classic Hollywood monster movies has made him spend his life recreating, preserving the Golden Age of horror and science fiction. Step back in time if you dare. And this week's road trip, close to home news, 12 photojournalist, Laurie Goliath takes us to Plainville. Uh Welcome Poor Mortal to this Witches Dungeon of Nightmares. When I started the Witches Dungeon Classic Movie Museum, I wanted to do exactly that, make it a movie museum. In other words, to concentrate on the artistry of the makeup and the effects and the actors in the films. Hi, I'm Courtland Hull and I created the Witches Dungeon Classic Movie Museum when I was only 13 years old. Back in 1966. Each year we add new exhibits and this is one of our newest which is Ab and Costello. Meet Frankenstein Abbot and Costello added a different dimension to horror films. Uh The they gave comedy to it and uh it made it accessible to kids. Many of the figures are based on life casts of the actors faces which you have to develop into a full figure. And of course, you add glass highs and human hair and they really come live that way. I have used my knowledge and we've added audio tracks to each one of the exhibits so people can hear the actors from the film. This is our makeup and prop room and these makeups or props were actually used in films. This is something I never thought we would have. It's called the Mr A computer screen that was originally built by 20th century Fox in 1957 for this film here, desk set with Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, but it wasn't just used in this film. It was used in the fly turn of the fly and every episode of Voyage to the bottom of the sea. It's a very rare prop. It's one of a kind you have created a monster and it will destroy you. This is a model that I made when I was nine years old. It's uh aurora model kit of El Solan Ester as the bride of Frankenstein, which always was my top favorite horror film. And just recently, we've done a full size figure of Elsa as the bride of Frankenstein, which we wanted to do for a long time. Now together we recreate his meat. I'm sure going to be very popular for fans that love the film until we meet again. I think being able to see it in person as if they were on the set when it was being made, makes it special for people

Dozens. Even hundreds of people lining the streets of the Big Apple may not seem too unusual. Right. Well, the reason behind this line might just make you melt. It was the best I ever had. It's like music to your mouth. Like love at first bite kiss from your Italian lover located in the heart of Greenwich Village. Take one step inside a Antico vin and the shop got its start in the heart of Florence Italy in the 1990 s. And now after making its way to the big apple sandwiches at the shop have been rated some of the best in the world. I just like known as cooking these sandwiches of epic proportions are sure to keep your belly and heart full. The bread is made every day here. It's like really steam hot. Our motto is look how it steams because it's always cold. So all ingredients are important for me, but it's not important. We make it here. But what is it that makes this international sensation, so special truffle cream. Um The bread was really hot and crispy. So the cheese was melty. So everything was just perfect. So it's delicious. I mean, how can you go wrong with a Florentine sandwich? Delicious bread, Italian P cuts all that. It's got a blend of salami toscana, pecorino cream artichoke and spicy eggplant. It's the signature sandwich I think that these guys became famous with, with half a million followers on Tik Tok and nearly 10 million likes the team at the shop. Say they've been on a roll. The line on weekends is crazy. It's like really long. We have another shop on Eighth Avenue there every day. It's packed here. It's like 30 minutes. It's crazy. So just how far will people go to get down on this grub as long as it takes to get the goods? Because when you have your heart set on something of the world's greatest sandwiches, then you gotta do what you gotta do. So come early, come hungry and prepare to be transported. It's like being in Italy. It makes you feeling it, the atmosphere, the people and the sandwiches of course had a little bit of p alright. You guys, it's now our turn for our very own taste test. I'm holding the PABA Losa. It's one of the shop's best sellers. It's got uh spicy Italian Prosciutto and Eggplant. So here we go taste test on camera for you guys. Oh my God, you guys. It really is a bite out of Italy. If you want your taste of Italy, you can head to this location. We're at Greenwich Village. The shop's got another location in midtown and for our friends who aren't in the greater NYC area, they're opening one in California and Las Vegas. Welcome back to News 12. Well, perhaps you're looking for some fun things to do around the city. And News 12 has you covered in this week's road trip? Close to home. We're going on a tour through the history of Allerton. One of the Bronx neighborhoods with a rich history of art and culture. And News Twelve's Marissa Marcelino takes us there, unique architecture, graffiti, art, murals and streets exploding with diversity. That's just a taste of Allerton and it's all connected by a historic thoroughfare. I call it the, the Broadway of the Bronx. It's uh one of our first roads. If not the first road that cuts directly across the Bronx goes all the way up to Boston route, one goes all the way down to Florida. But the best way to get around for the day, get to walking. Look at the pre buildings, the businesses that have stood the test of time and get lost in the history of the area named for the 19th century settler Daniel Allerton. When you come here, if you want to get familiar, walking up and down the streets, take a look at the people who are in the stores and the, and the barber shops and the cleaners make sure you check out the former United Workers Cooper, more commonly known as the Coups. The style apartment building complex is a city and national landmark. A group of Jewish textile workers got together, they bought the land, bought the property and uh moved in. It was, it was a Cooper among the Jewish community. Hungary Pit for nearly any cuisine under the sun. There's the brand new Allerton Halal Meat Market, the long standing Allerton Fish Market, the Italian steeple Roma pizza. And of course, don't forget dessert. I think Sal and Dons is well known, you know, as New Yorkers travel throughout the world, they, they go and tell everybody about Sal and Don's, it's probably one of the best bakeries in the Bronx. If not, the best, no visit to the area is complete without paying your respects with the, our Lady of Lords Grotto at Saint Lucy's Church, a replica of the pilgrimage site in Lords France in Allerton, Marissa Marcelino News 12.

We're learning all about the history that New Jersey's role had when it comes to air and space accomplishments. And this week's road trip close to home, photojournalist, Mike Roberts takes us to the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum in Peterborough. We are very proud here at the Aviation Hall of Fame in our passion and our love of teaching young people and everything in our museum has a connection to engineering flight or space exploration in New Jersey. I was a logistics engineer, so I got to spend a good portion of my aerospace career working for the United States Air Force and I was so blessed to contributed so much to so many great military programs, the incredible birth of aviation and just how phenomenal and exciting it must have been for those men. This is my retirement job and who could ask for a cooler retirement job than this. New Jersey truly has the most unique history in the country right above me is the Gloria two. This rocket plane absolutely began American rocketry in the 19 thirties from the first aerial flight which is a balloon ride in 17 93 took off in Philadelphia and landed in Depford, New Jersey. We have many of the engines that flew on aircraft that were all built here in Bergen County, Catherine Anne Halbert. She was one of New Jersey's Wasps. The Watts played an incredibly important role in American military aviation as both test pilots and as ferry pilots. We also have a whole wall dedicated to space exploration. We're in our aviation hall of fame. We have over 190 inductees, Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart Buzz Aldrin are all here enshrined in this room. This is our wall of honor. This is really for current or former veterans and each branch of the service is represented. And if you can see there are well over 1000 signatures, human beings want to explore and aviation and space to quote, Captain Kirk are the final frontiers and that passion inside all of us when we ask the question and we look at the stars. What's out there? What's up there? Can I ever find out? Can I go? That's what it's all about. Didn't know that existed here in our state. That's fantastic to see more places. New Jersey has to offer. But in this week's road trip, close to home, we're taking you to Brooklyn's spookiest Halloween Adventure in News. Twelve's Cise Archer has the details on the pumpkins spirits and Hocus pocus in Coney Island. The Halloween magic has filled the air with potions and a touch of mystery as Luna Park has transformed and as you walk into the park, you'll notice a lot more than just the typical ride Halloween a year and we are celebrating with all New Yorkers. We all grouping nights. It is the best place to come. You know, you heard it here. First Luna Park is the place to be for this Halloween season as they celebrate the 10th annual Halloween harvest, the passion, the support from the community, you know, made us more and more successful. There's amazing photo ops, face painting and artwork planted throughout the park from local artists. And if you're small enough, you can take a ride on this mini tractor through a hay race track. Luna Park is more than just the hocus pocus as they've gone all out with pumpkin spice everything like funnel cake, gelato, even fried Oreos. But there's also different autumn treats, making sure there's something for every taste bud. Meanwhile some people say they came for a change of scenery just to have fun and forget about like every other responsibility that you have outside of here. Just pretend like this is like a different place for you to have fun. If you're a thrill seeker and enjoy these rides, some say scream your lungs out just to get it out. And if you're looking for more Halloween activities make your way to the black bears pumpkin patch. Once you pick a pumpkin, you can decorate it, bringing it to life and it could look something like this. A family friendly activity and theme park for everyone to enjoy to come here and spend the day with the family. Have some like good food around. It's uh it's great. It just like uh allows her to see many different things that she doesn't get to see in Manhattan right now before you make your exit, don't forget about trick or treating. It's a major highlight as kids and adults can go home with a bag filled of candy. So as you walk around the park, make sure and stop at the local attractions for the sweet treats in Luna park. Bridgeport's Cardinal. She and center serves as many things. It's a learning center, a recreation space and even a spot for kids just to keep busy after school. Well, now they're launching a new edition all about music. See if you got that there, here's Tom Grassy to explain chicken. Once again, everybody, music means something different to them. You gotta find what it means to you. Bivens and the Cardinal. She and Center are giving Bridgeport Youth the opportunity to experience just that with the all new beats center recording studio with gear and a layout endorsed by her husband Mike Bivens of new edition and Bell Biv Devoe. It's the latest and greatest this room feel like you're in a professional recording studio within the center. That's the ambience you have to have in order to get anybody excited from the moment they walk through the door. The room includes a vocal recording booth, mixing board and state of the art software that pros like Bivens and the skinny boys use this month. They're launching their first set of classes for teens completely free as well as a program for younger kids on podcasting and radio. It's a space. The engineers wish they could have had growing up this, this would have been the world, but they have what I don't have. And that's the blessing and I can assist them on their journey. The talented team of engineers can even assist a total amateur. The pro equipment at the Beats Center at the Sheen Center creates a world of opportunities for the next generation of artists. Bridgeport. If they could choose the sounds they like, what do they like in a song? I wanna experience it totally different in 23 than I experienced in 83. You figure they have their own lingo. Even in this room, we can't veer them off into an era. They can't relate to a new edition. Indeed. It's gonna inspire somebody.
