All right. We're checking back in on today's storm watch. We want to get straight to storm watch team. Meteorologist Alan. No. All right, Alan. So as the rain is moving through this morning, what can we expect? Yeah, it's going to be a slow go on the area roadways this morning. We saw that with Ellie live in thunderbolt 12 just a few minutes ago. And that's because we've seen quite a bit of rain, almost two inches worth actually across parts of our borough that's causing. So some of those puddles, not luckily severe flooding. That's great news because it has fallen over about a 12 to four hour stretch instead of just in a couple of hours. So take a look at our highest amount in Morris Park. So this is what was taken right along Morris Park Avenue. We're seeing almost two inches of rain down towards Pelham Bay as well. University Heights at 1.8 inches, laguardia. So right across, of course, the river we're seeing about 1.7 inches. So we could expect some more uh, flight delays this morning. Keep that in mind if you're planning to head out or have loved ones coming in. Let's take a look at the future cast here as we head into the five o'clock hour, more of the same. We're going to continue to see the rain out there into the six and seven o'clock hours as the final push moves on through. Notice again, just north of, uh, of our borough, we're already seeing the drying happening. So at 730 it'll still be a steady rain. We're still seeing the green right on top of our borough, whether you're in North Bay Chester or towards co op City and City Island, City Island, you're going to see the rain for the longest because as the storm exits from west to east, we're going to continue to see again, a couple more showers and you'll be last to finally wrap up with the rain after about 9 a.m. Notice by 930 we're done with the rain still hanging on to some clouds. But by the time we get to lunch time, it's going to be sunny. Wouldn't also want to forget the sunglasses because for the afternoon, there will be that sun glare issue with lots of sunshine out there into the afternoon and evening, just a couple of passing clouds, but we are now dry into the evening hours into the overnight hours. Again, future cats, I'm telling you it's moving, but it's not showing anything because of course, we will be clearing things on out as for wind gust, they will be picking up throughout the morning. We're going to see them approaching 25 to 30 MPH. Luckily, we avoided the worst of the wind gusts. Those were literally about 10 miles away out towards Long Island. So very lucky in terms of that, but it will still be blustery and notice the wind direction north and west. That's a cold Canadian wind that's going to be bringing down that colder feel throughout the afternoon. So Pelham Gardens, that's a 24 mile per hour gust into the lake morning this morning, throgs neck 24 mile per hour. Gusts and into the afternoon again near 30 MPH slowly but surely dying down as we head towards the afternoon and evening hours, notice they're going to be heading down below 5 to 10 MPH. So much lighter wind into tomorrow morning, but it's going to feel like pretty, pretty cold because take a look at the 10 day forecast and what you're going to see is that the lows will get down to just below freezing at 31. Even that little bit of wind left over tomorrow morning, it will feel like the twenties. So you want to bundle up tomorrow morning, breeze will actually pick up again into the afternoon. So forties will feel like thirties and then the next several days beyond, then it's just cold even colder than last week because highs they're gonna struggle to reach 40 low temperatures will be in the low thirties. So definitely look out for that once we finally clear out of this rain later on this morning again, 9 a.m. you're gonna get the green light because the rain will be wrapping on out of here. All right.

And I know nothing about this makeover subject. I have nothing to say John. Come in, please. I have short friends. They may take offense to that. Right. None intended but nothing is showed of rain as we work away and the wind it's gonna get worse. The wind is still gonna stick around throughout this morning. Um, the good news with the rain is it's starting to, to diminish and decrease. But again, with that wind, it's brought a lot of power outages specifically for Litchfield County spots across Newtown. Already seen over 200 power outages due to a storm that's really swept through with a lot of rain. A thunderstorm that pass through just a little bit after midnight earlier on this morning. So with that, we have a flood warning in effect for spots out across New Haven County. That's that lime green area, the darker forest green, that's the watch which sticks around throughout the rest of our morning, uh, into our afternoon. That flood watch looks like it's gonna expire by the time we head into around your 66 30 hour. Again, we're really starting to see that system move out east and thankfully, the worst of it is behind it, but still take it easy. We're still dealing with some steady bouts of rain this morning, some heavy rain this morning. But as we fast forward into the afternoon, we'll start to see that improvement. We really liking this rain to wrap up before the morning is done. And then we're gonna see, uh, a strong cold front bringing into some colder weather. We're quiet for the rest of this week, but again, it's gonna be a cold one and you're certainly gonna see that as we head into your tonight. So you just look at your 56 o'clock hour still dealing with some rain. Again, that strong cold front moves in. So notice different colors as you're looking up north and northwest, some pinks, some blues, a little bit of a mixing. We may see some flurries, we may see some snow showers and we could maybe even see about a coating to an inch thick for areas. Well, north, we're to cornwall on north, maybe spots out of crows ocean. Here's a look at your seven o'clock hour. We're starting to see that rain taper off by around 89 o'clock. I like for us to be dry. Then we could see some sun. By the time we head into this afternoon we're still gonna watch for some snow showers for areas up north and then again, a break in the clouds. Some sunshine for your afternoon. Numbers are gonna be in the lower to mid forties, then we're cold for tonight and we'll see that heading into your tomorrow. Looking at your extended forecast again. Once we get through this morning, we're looking at improvement as we dry out, but again, chillier.

We have another, we have another say 90 minutes or so before we start to completely dry things out here across the Hudson Valley. But we're going to end as a couple of wet snow flakes mixing in with the rain, even probably in Westchester County as I'm seeing right now. Let's take a look outside right now towards the Hudson River. It is still dark and early and the sky will brighten up through the six o'clock hour back to live Doppler radar right now. And so if you have to head out right now over the next hour or so, just slow it down for the conditions, roads are wet leaves around still this time of the year. This is mostly rain at the moment as we take you a little bit closer and give you a hyperlocal view here over towards Spring Valley. Actually a little bit more of some moderate rain over in Spring Valley right there along 287 Eastern to Mount pleasant and arch more of the same, just some moderate rain at the moment, getting a few wet snow flakes mixing in towards Warwick and Greenwood Lake right now. It is some steady or like to moderate snow over in northwestern Ulster County. In these areas, temperatures are still above the freezing mark but can be some light accumulations on colder surfaces in those higher elevations in Ulster. What I want to show you here on the satellite and radar loop here is that some more of those blues popping up where we have the greens, that is a sign that some colder air is starting to filter on down into the storm as it pulls away off to the east. And we pretty much expect that as we go throughout the mid morning hours, this will end as a rain snow mix pretty much everywhere across the lower Hudson Valley. But any snow doesn't amount to anything, the ground still warm in the upper thirties to low forties. And you just have to watch out for the wet conditions as you travel as we go throughout this morning winds actually not awful right now. It's breezy at times and as we go throughout the day, the wind can still be breezy in the 20 to 30 mile per hour range. So the futurecast shows the drying conditions by mid-morning breaks of sun after nine o'clock this morning. But staying breezy and chilly into the afternoon, dry stretch of weather tomorrow through the start of the upcoming weekend, temperatures near 50 Friday through Monday with more rain, possibly Sunday evening and into Monday of next week.

Checking our forecast now, Rich Hoffman is back with us last night was really bad. So people waking up right now wondering what's going on out there. Yeah, the Christmas lights went out from all the rain and the sockets there and some decorations down. I saw her driving in this morning a lot of wet roads and it's kind of that sneaky flooding where it's on the side of the roads, it's really dark out there and we're going to be watching that we still have some pockets of a steadier rain right now. And as we go throughout the rest of the morning, we're going to start to improve our weather and we have snow north and west of Long Island. So it is turning colder here for you around the rest of today. Let's take a look at your Doppler radar this morning. You can see the steadier rain more out towards the east end right now with the yellow. So anytime you see yellow in our Doppler radar, that's a steadier rain with some pockets of heavier rain, you can see some of that right now from Southampton over Shelter Island towards or point moving towards East Hampton and Springs. Again, there is that sneaky flooding with some of the sides of the roads being flooded and again, give yourself extra travel time here this morning. With that wet weather, you can see from riverhead to Mattituck, Southampton over to Mastic. We are watching the rainy conditions. The last advisory just expired. We did have a flood advisory until 445 this morning. Now there are no advice or warning The high wind warning, the flood watts, the wind advisory all have been dropped right now. We're just looking at steadier showers here in Roslyn or Brookville Hicksville, Levittown, East Massapequa over towards uh Hempstead to Elmont to uh areas of Kings Point. We're looking at the soggy conditions, still looking at some wind gusts right now, around 30 MPH, we had some wind gusts last night, 40 to 50 MPH. And you will notice over the next couple of hours as the cold air moves in, still some wind gusts close to 40 MPH. Now, temperatures are in the forties. They've been dropping all night long. We dropped 13 degrees last night once the cold front has passed. And you can see this morning at the bus stop in Seaford 44 degrees 47 later today. But with a gusty wind, it's got a chill to the air this afternoon, rainy conditions. The rain will start to taper off west to east over Long Island between eight and 11 o'clock this morning. This afternoon, sunshine. A gusty wind. Temperatures are in the forties. Tomorrow morning, temperatures are dropping into the upper twenties to around 30 Tuesday, mostly chilly. A high of 44. So the rain will start to taper off over the next couple of hours. Improving weather conditions. Sunshine this afternoon at 47 watch out for wet roads this morning and exceed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday dry into Saturday. More wet weather coming in Sunday into Monday.

And speaking of ice is expected to get colder out there. Meteorologist Michelle Powers joins us now and we are on storm watch. Michelle, what can you tell us? Well, we have a lot more rain before the morning comes and roads are going to be wet. It's going to be sloppy as we start the day. But temperatures are above freezing, we're going to watch them fall throughout the day and heading into Tuesday, any standing water that is left over that could become icy. So plan ahead. Now there could be some minor slowdowns on the roads and as for snow don't get your hopes up. There's a chance as you go up in elevation and throughout parts of the Poconos, that's where really most of this will fall. So the colder air rushes in temperatures are really going to drop as we head into Tuesday morning, we're near freezing. The next couple of mornings will be much colder daytime, highs in the forties and no rain in sight until next weekend.
