A new service launching in Park Slope promises to protect car wires from being chewed by rats, thanks to a creative solution devised by a 12-year-old entrepreneur and his brother.

Micah Geballe, co-CEO of "Rat Repellers," started the service after rats gnawed through the wiring of his family’s car on two occasions.

Micah and his 10-year-old brother, Ezra, have since taken matters into their own hands, offering a simple yet innovative way to deter the pests.

"I was like, ‘Dad, a reporter texted me, and I don’t even have any customers,’” Micah said after receiving a message from a local journalist about his new venture.

Micah admits that his dad is currently the only paying customer. “He doesn’t want to get another rat attack!” Micah joked.

The service works by having customers scan a QR code, which directs them to sign up and share their car’s location with Micah. He then sprays a peppermint solution beneath the vehicle, which rats find repellent.

Ezra, Micah’s younger brother and business partner, helps out by walking the family dog, Sasha, around the neighborhood to scare off any lurking rodents.

"She loves rats," Ezra said.

Together, the brothers are on a mission to protect Park Slope from hungry rats, combining youthful enthusiasm with a practical solution.
