Police are still working to determine the thieves who allegedly stole two French bulldogs in Suffolk County.
The two pets have been returned to their owners, but a Yorkshire Terrier is still missing.
Suffolk County Chief of Detectives Mathew Lewis believes that the people who are accused of stealing the bulldogs would have tried to sell them.
"My thought is that the press that went out on the first dog made it difficult to sell that dog and get rid of it," Lewis says. "My belief is that's probably why it was let go."
French bulldogs can be seen advertised on sites like Craigslist for thousands of dollars.
Earlier in the year, Lady Gaga's dogs were stolen in Los Angeles after her dog walker was shot.
The missing Yorkshire Terrier was taken from the front lawn of a West Babylon home.
Loli's owner Esther Valbuena told News 12 she was outside with the dog when two people allegedly grabbed her and drove off.
According to police, the alleged thieves were in a light-colored SUV.
Valbuena is worried that Loli could have been sold or being used as a puppy mill dog.
"I am afraid that they maybe took her to have more dogs to sell," Valbuena says. "We are thinking about how they're treating her too. I don't know how someone could do this, come to a house and just steal my pet."
Anyone who knows where Loli could be are asked to call police.
