Upgrades to the 161st Street Yankee Stadium Station, part of the MTA's Station Re-NEW-vation Program, are complete.
They include fresh paint, new tiles and brighter lighting. It’s the 65th station to get upgraded as part of the initiative and is the first in the Bronx this year.
The Ren-NEW-vation plan revamps stations during weekends when they're closed for track repair and other maintenance.
Changes to the station come just in time for the start of the upcoming baseball season.
The MTA has plans for 50 stations to be renovated this year, with two more in the Bronx to be done by the end of March.
