A Wyandanch family pleads for help after a devastating car crash in Central Islip took the life of their loved one.
Aldo de Jesus Gonzalez Ibarra died in a crash on Jan. 23 near William Street when the vehicle he was in was struck by a westbound sedan.
His uncle, Jose Ibarra, reached out to News 12 saying the family needs help to raise almost $12,000 to send Gonzalez Ibarra’s body back to El Salvador.
Ibarra also tells News 12 that a week before Gonzalez Ibarra’s death, his mother in El Salvador died from a kidney illness.
As the family continues to grieve the loss of two loved ones, they’re asking for any help in any amount from the community.
(The following from Ibarra has been translated from Spanish.)
"These are two hard blows that have hit my family right now,” said Ibarra. “If the community did something for us, even if they wanted it to be just a little, my family would be very grateful."
Another person in the vehicle also died in the crash.
The family asks to email corea_luis@hotmail.com to find out how you can help.
