A World Series champion is working to save Long Island Little League programs.
Former New York Mets player Ed Kranepool was at Washington Avenue Park Sunday to help announce that the community will come together to help raise funds for the Seaford Little League.
As News 12 reported, Nassau County recently announced it would stop waiving county field-use fees.
That decision is forcing teams to charge more and even stop hosting spring training all together.
The fees have totaled in the tens of thousands for teams in Seaford, with some accounts reaching up to $16,000.
