The information coming from the medical community has been confusing when it comes to the issue of COVID-19 and pregnancy. 

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, COVID-19 vaccines should not be withheld from pregnant individuals who meet criteria for vaccination based on recommended priority groups.

But on Tuesday, the World Health Organization said while pregnancy does put women at a higher risk of severe COVID-19, the use of the Moderna vaccine in pregnant women is currently not recommended – unless they are at risk of high exposure.

Neither the Pfizer nor the Moderna vaccine were tested on pregnant women, although there are women who were enrolled in the clinical trials who received the vaccine, then became pregnant.

While doctors say there were no adverse reactions reported from that group to the FDA, there just isn't enough data yet. 

If you are pregnant and eligible for the vaccine, the recommendation is that you talk to your doctor so you can decide together what's best.
