Woman killed in Eastchester house fire; firefighter fell through floor but was not hurt

Eastchester fire officials confirm a woman died in a house fire Wednesday at 197 Park Ave.
Firefighters got the call at about 3 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, crews said there was fire throughout the two-story house. It took about 40 firefighters 2 hours to get the flames under control.
Fire officials say crews had a difficult time getting inside the home due to extreme clutter conditions. Firefighters from Yonkers, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle were called in to help.
A New Rochelle firefighter fell halfway through the first floor, but he was able to pull himself out and was not hurt.

The victim's name has not been released but fire officials describe her as a woman in her 70s and say she was the only person living in the home
