Woman fatally struck by NJ Transit train in Fair Lawn

Train 1183 left Hoboken at 11:17 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Suffern at 12:24 a.m.

A woman was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train late Wednesday night in Fair Lawn.

The incident happened around 11:58 p.m. when a Bergen County Line train traveling from Hoboken to Suffern struck a female trespasser just west of Morlot Avenue, according to NJ Transit.

Train 1183 left Hoboken at 11:17 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Suffern at 12:24 a.m. No injuries were reported among the crew or the 22 passengers on board, officials said.

NJ Transit police are investigating.
