A woman is accused of poisoning her fiancé's friend by spiking his drink with Visine eye drops.
Police arrested 24-year-old Kristine Anzalone Wednesday for the June attack. Authorities said Anzalone, her fiancé and Joseph Gentissi were living together in Bellmore at the time.
According to officials, Anzalone was upset that Gentissi was smoking while she was pregnant. Police also said the trio were fighting over money and living conditions.
Anzalone, who is being held on $2,000 cash bail, is charged with assault and criminal mischief for allegedly spiking Gentissi's drink with Visine. She also allegedly antagonized a dog into attacking Gentissi's Chihuahua, which died as a result.
"I couldn't eat or sleep or do anything," Gentissi said of the poisoning. "It was a horrible situation." Gentissi said he suffered vomiting, rectal bleeding and had trouble breathing.
According to doctors, ingesting Visine can also cause tremors and central nervous system problems.
Anzalone's attorney denies the accusations.
