The wind on Friday evening caused numerous trees to come down as well as scattered power outages. The heavy rain and wind on Thursday helped to compromise some trees across Long Island and made them even easier to come down.
Thankfully, the wind will gradually improve a bit overnight. You should still use caution traveling as there can obviously be Halloween and wind-related debris on roads.
It will stay a bit gusty on Saturday, but it will not be as windy as Friday. Saturday morning will feel cold, so wear a heavier coat. Saturday's gusts should max out around 30 mph. The weekend overall will be nice!
