A large whale washed ashore Monday in Westhampton Beach.
The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society says the 24-foot-long female whale was "very decomposed" upon examination.
A cause of death could not be determined, but there was evidence of heart issues.
Information was collected from the animal before being buried.
More information will be made available once a necropsy is complete.
