Pleasant Tuesday on Long Island ahead of showers and storms Wednesday

TROPICS: Hurricane Lee is still expected to pass east of Long Island Friday into Saturday with large waves, rip currents and some flooding during times of high tide later in the week. On Saturday clouds and showers from the outer bands of the storm could reach the East End.

We continue to monitor Lee’s track for changes and potential impacts. The storm still looks well offshore with no major direct impact. Coastal impacts are possible - including rip currents and possible beach erosion.
HUMIDITY: Remains high through Wednesday with the next round of rain. Drier, cooler, comfortable weather arrives by Thursday.

TUESDAY: Sun and clouds. Warm and humid with highs near 81 degrees. Slight chance for a stray shower during the afternoon. North to south winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 7:07. Partly cloudy and muggy at night with lows near 68.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms likely. Highs near 77. Drying out with clearing skies at night. Turning cooler and less humid with lows near 60.
THURSDAY: Nice with sun and clouds. Highs near 76. Cooler at night with lows near 58.
FRIDAY: SAM'S PICK OF THE WEEK: Friday - cooler and less humid with mostly sunny skies. Nice and dry with sun and clouds. Highs near 74. Lows near 61.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Chance for a few showers around the East End. Breezy at times. Highs near 76. Lows near 64.
