West Hempstead residents vote again on revised school budget

Voters in West Hempstead headed to the middle school gym Tuesday to vote on the school district's revised budget.
The $71.1 million spending plan is around $300,000 less than the one that residents previously rejected.
It was the only school budget among Long Island's 124 districts that was defeated.
The proposal carries a 1.5% increase in the school portion of the property tax bill for West Hempstead residents.
