Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says showers and thunderstorms could bring heavy rain tonight.
A flood advisory is in effect for southwest Suffolk County until 11 p.m. Quick and heavy rain could cause minor flooding in areas such as Islip, Brentwood, Medford, Ronkonkoma and Patchogue.
WHAT'S NEW: There are currently no alerts for Long Island and rainfall is trending a little bit later this evening. We have showers in Eastern Suffolk right now but most of the rain will happen between 9pm and 2am with the chance for heavy downpours. The thunderstorm threat is diminishing.
