With the Islamic holy month of Ramadan beginning next week, We Belong Here is distributing donations for families in need.
The group makes sure every family has the supplies they need when then break fast.
We Belong Here is spending Friday handing out grocery kits at Hillside Islamic Center in New Hyde Park.
Grocery kits distributed by the group contain medjool dates, zabiha halal chicken, lentils, rice, milk, yogurt and more.
Eid al-Fitr, the “festival of the breaking of the fast,” marks the end of Ramadan every year.
