4h agoA boil water advisory remains in effect for people living near Madison and 7th streets in Hoboken.
A contractor struck a water line on Monday, causing the work area to be flooded and some water reached the roadway.
The construction site was dry on Tuesday, and the roads have reopened to traffic.
However, the boil water advisory remains in place for those on Adams Street West between Sixth and 10th streets. This includes those living up to the western border on both sides of the street. Bottled water distribution is taking place on nearby Jackson Street.
According to Chris Halloran at Veolia, the broken main at the construction site was repaired Monday night. Veolia is currently collecting samples for water quality testing. These tests take a minimum of 24 hours.
Meanwhile, in Jersey City, crews are working to repair a break on Bidwell Avenue between Ocean Avenue and MLK Boulevard.
Veolia Water Company says about 100 customers were affected.
