Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman delivered his State of the County address on Wednesday, touting his accomplishments as he seeks reelection in November.

Blakeman focused on safety, highlighting that the county has hired over 300 police officers and corrections officers during his term. He also emphasized the county's work with ICE to detain illegal immigrants who commit crimes.

The Republican also said he plans to submit a budget with no tax increases for residents.

Nassau County Legislator Seth Koslow is running against Blakeman for county executive. He said taxes have gone up under Blakeman for some residents in the county.

The Democratic challenger also pointed out what he called Blakeman's dangerous militia program, which he says gives police powers to untrained civilians who own property and own a gun.
