Washingtonville man indicted for selling lethal dose of fentanyl

Authorities have indicted a Washingtonville man for allegedly knowingly selling a lethal dose of fentanyl.

Timothy Lempicki, 36, was indicted and arraigned Thursday after allegedly selling the deadly narcotic to a man in the Village of Washingtonville July 16, 2022. The indictment alleges that Lempicki sold the drug, knew, and consciously disregarded a substantial risk that it might have a lethal effect on the person he sold it to.

The man who purchased the narcotic, whose name was not released by officials, was found deceased in the Town of New Windsor a day later.

His autopsy showed that he died of a fentanyl overdose.

Lempicki is charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Washingtonville, New Windsor police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office investigated the case. Lempicki was remanded to Orange County Jail on $50,000 bail, $100,000 secured bond or $250,000 secured bond. According to online records, he posted bail.

Lempicki is scheduled to appear in Orange County Court Dec. 14.
