Students at Mandalay Elementary School in Wantagh held their own Thanksgiving parade.

Each class dressed up to represent a different aspect of the holiday.

They also got to display their handmade floats to parents and community members.

School officials say around 300 children participated.

"Every year we try to do something for Thanksgiving, whether it's giving back or having a parade,” said teacher Laura Capozzi. “It gets the kids involved and it really teaches them about the importance of the holiday."
