Family and friends are gathering Thursday to remember three members of one family killed in the horrific crash on the Long Island Expressway in Manorville.
The wake for Carmelo Pinales, his 10-year-old son Christopher and his sister Patricia was held in Uniondale Thursday afternoon. Another gathering will be held tonight from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The family was heading to Splish Splash for the boy's birthday party Sunday when police say Pinales lost control of his car and went airborne into oncoming traffic. Three other people died.
The Pinales family members will be buried Friday.
