Nearly 600,000 people on Long Island cast their vote for the 2024 election already - a number that will certainly grow on Election Day Tuesday.
Election officials say the process by which the votes are tabulated will take some time, and they are aiming for accuracy, not speed.
They also want the public to know that any delay in results does not mean anything is wrong, but simply that they are doing their job according to New York state Election Law.
