Dozens of friends and family paid tribute to Michael Lopez Banegas Saturday night, lighting candles and sharing photos in his honor.
The vigil for Banegas took place at the very park his body was found nearly two weeks earlier.
As News 12 previously reported, four young men were murdered in a Central Islip park on Clayton Street nearly two weeks ago. The bodies of Banegas, 20, along with Jorge Tigre of Bellport, 18, Jefferson Villalobos, 18, and Justin Llivicura, 16, of East Patchogue were found at the park on Clayton Street.
Suffolk Police tell News 12 they believe MS-13 is responsible for the murders.
