It was a slow ride home for some commuters on the LIRR Tuesday night.
Service was suspended on the Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Huntington branches during the evening rush because of a utility pole fire near the tracks in Westbury. It was restored a short time later, but there were still residual delays.
Fire officials confirmed that electrical wires ignited the pole, which was most likely the result of high winds.
Officials say all trains should be on or close to schedule in time for the Wednesday morning rush.
