The Wantagh School District won’t be getting their Warriors mascot back, but a U.S. Court of Appeals ruling says the fight over team gear can move forward.

The court says school board member Anthony Greco has the right to challenge the ban on Warriors gear at school events.

The board argued that the state’s ban on Indigenous names and mascots violates free speech, but the court sided with the State Board of Regents to keep the ban in place.
