Two Long Island natives are going for gold in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

North Babylon native Brianna Jones will play on Puerto Rico's women's basketball team. Her first game with team Puerto Rico on Saturday against Serbia.

Commack native Halle Hazzard will run in the 100 meters for Grenada on Aug. 2.

Pauline Hazzard, Halle’s mom, shared a special message for her Olympian.

"Be humble as you usually be and you're already there. You don't have anything to prove. Just be yourself," she said.

Hazzard’s mom and Jones’s mom work at Gurwin Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Commack.

The staff there are planning watch parties with their patients and staff to cheer the two on.
