Triboro Center is welcoming its first amputee rehabilitation program in Claremont.
While the nursing facility says it already serves hundreds of Bronx patients, this program comes with new equipment meant to help amputee patients live healthier lives, while strengthening their endurance.
Workers there say this cutting-edge technology can also be used to help those living with conditions from a stroke to spinal cord injuries, just as long as they can handle sitting.
"It gives them more confidence in doing things by themselves and just the overall performance that they know themselves that they could do more for themselves in in the room or even when they go home," said Geenan Cubilla, director of Triboro Center Rehabilitation.
Officials say the facility currently has 405 beds.
