Swimmers gathered for the Town of Oyster Bay’s annual Polar Plunge at Tobay Beach.

The yearly tradition supports Special Olympics New York, an organization that helps athletes with intellectual disabilities play their favorite sports.

Organizers say the event has raised over $130,000 so far.
