Two men were killed when their small plane crashed at MacArthur Airport Monday evening.

Police say the crash happened at around 6:15 p.m. The aircraft took off heading southwest but attempted to land shortly after taking flight. The plane crashed as the pilot returned to the runway.

The two adult men who were killed have not yet been identified. The cause of the crash is not known.
