More protests are expected today after a grand jury's decision not to charge the NYPD officer in the chokehold death of Eric Garner.
Protesters in Times Square held signs and chanted things like "I can't breathe," which were the last words of Garner as he was taken down by Officer Daniel Pantaleo in July.
Some of the demonstrations blocked traffic at the Lincoln Tunnel and Brooklyn Bridge. Protesters also rallied in Times Square and even held a 'die-in' at Grand Central Station. There was no looting or rioting, but more than 80 protesters were arrested.
The Justice Department has now announced it will conduct a federal investigation into the death of Garner. Attorney General Eric Holder called Garner's death a tragedy.
