Thousand in support of Palestine march in Bethpage, call for extension of cease-fire in Gaza
Thousands of people marched in Bethpage Sunday for Palestinian rights.
Demonstrators said they want the cease-fire deal in Gaza to continue past Monday.
"Many people are here. Not just the Palestinians but people who believe in what's right. All people who don't believe in bombing children, innocent civilians," said Noura Farouk, of Mothers For Justice.
The truce that began Saturday morning brought the first period of silence and calm for 2.3 million people in Gaza since Oct. 7.
Rocket fire from Gaza militants into Israel also fell silent.
