Thieves with sledgehammers rob Bellmore jewelry store, owner says

The incident happened at around 1 p.m. at Philip Joseph Jewelers on Sunrise Highway, police say.

The owner of a Bellmore jewelry store says five thieves with sledgehammers stole merchandise in an apparent smash-and-grab robbery.
The incident happened at around 1 p.m. at Philip Joseph Jewelers on Sunrise Highway, police say.
The store owner says the thieves took off in a vehicle. She tells News 12 a woman with a baby was inside the store at the time.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
