News 12's Doug Geed takes us to an East End restaurant that's become a classic summer spot for locals and tourists.
This time of year, we all like to visit restaurants on the water.
Fortino's Tavern is located on historic Preston's Dock in Greenport, right next to Claudio's.
The red-barn-colored eatery has a long dock stretching into Greenport Harbor overlooking Shelter Island.
It's owned by a couple who've both had a lot of experience in the food and hospitality business around the world.
Chef Mike Fortino serves up a lot of options.
From fresh pasta, steaks to pork chops – the food gets rave reviews, but people also talk about the atmosphere.
"We have three different parts to this restaurant. The bar is nice and cozy. And you can go outside and have a nice bottle of wine and a three-course meal. And I love inside. It's so bright and cheery. Yeah, I agree, thank you. There are views everywhere," says Nikki Fortino.
