A Nassau County woman is breathing a sigh of relief Wednesday after she was reunited with her beloved medical support dog.
Nancy Skolnik says her dog, Ellie, was taken from outside Carpets and Us in Levittown around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The incident was caught on surveillance camera.
"You can see the dog in the car, trying to escape from these people…so it's breaking my heart to know that she knows that she was abducted and she's trying to get back to me," says Skolnik.
Following Skolnik's heartfelt plea, Ellie was found at a shelter in Farmingdale.
"Oh my God, oh my God, I, thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh my God I got my baby back. Thank you so much!" says Skolnik. "Thank you everybody, I got such an outpouring I cannot believe how quickly it was all, everybody's help that got this dog back. Thank you so much, thank you."
