A Farmingdale teen was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on the Bethpage State Parkway in Oyster Bay Saturday night.
Witnesses say 16-year-old John Ortiz and a friend were in the roadway when Ortiz was struck.
The driver remained at the scene and is not facing charges.
The other teen was not injured.
Police say the incident happened about a mile from the Southern State Parkway.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call State Police at 631-756-3300.
