Starting Sunday, the cost of a monthly LIRR ticket will increase by 4.5 %. The 10 trip ticket will also go away in the New Year.

Those who activate their mobile train tickets on board could also face an additional surcharge.

Price hikes and fees don’t just end with 2026. Earlier this month, the MTA board approved a plan that would hike fares by another 4% in March of 2027.
