Tall ships from around the world set to arrive in New York Harbor for America’s 250th
Nearly 50 tall ships, along with dozens of naval vessels, will take part in Sail4th 250.
Dozens of tall ships from more than 20 countries are heading to New York Harbor as part of the celebration for America’s 250th birthday, in what is expected to be one of the largest maritime events in U.S. history.
Nearly 50 tall ships, along with dozens of naval vessels, will take part in Sail4th 250. The main event is set for July 4, when a massive parade of sail will pass under the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, glide past the Statue of Liberty and continue up the Hudson River.
Visitors will be able to tour many of the ships for free with reservations, while waterfront viewing areas across the city will offer prime spots to watch the parade. Cruise excursions will also be available.
Organizers say it’s a rare opportunity to see historic ships from around the world up close as the country marks 250 years of independence.
