All Southampton Town ocean beaches west of Shinnecock Canal are closed to swimming this afternoon due to shark sightings, according to the Southampton Town police.
Police say they got reports of sharks feeding on bunker approximately 200 to 300 yards off Pikes Beach in Westhampton earlier today.
Officials say there's already been a record number of 26 confirmed shark sightings so far this year in Nassau.
It was not clear when swimming would be back opened to the public.
