Police rushed to a school bus in Baldwin Friday afternoon after the driver found what she thought could be a bomb.
Police say the driver was alone on the bus on Grand Avenue when she called to report she had found two suspicious pipes inside a backpack. They told her to immediately pull over. Officers and the bomb squad arrived at the scene and searched the bus.
Police brought in a robot to remove the bag from the bus. The road was shut down while the materials were removed, but neither homes nor businesses were evacuated.
There is no word yet on exactly what the pipes were for.
