According to police, the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
News 12 has been told the woman was found at the River Pointe Apartment Complex on East Main Street with what appeared to be a stab wound to the chest.
Officers say the woman was uncooperative and appeared to be under the influence.
Police say witnesses came to them, saying a female suspect had ran off, but they were unable to locate her.
The 44-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
