A man suspected in a series of killings in Texas and Pennsylvania was caught by Suffolk police and U.S. Marshals in Shirley Monday.
Authorities in Texas say 43-year-old Paul Devoe murdered a bartender Friday. They say he is also accused of four more murders after four bodies were found in a different Texas city on Sunday.
U.S. Marshals say Devoe stole a car that belonged to one of the murder victims and drove it to Pennsylvania. Authorities in Pennsylvania say they found that car at the scene of another murder there.
Devoe is now in custody after police and U.S. Marshals found him at a home on River Road. Authorities say another stolen car from Pennsylvania was parked in the driveway of the home. Neighbors say they do not know Devoe, but police told them he had an acquaintance at the home.
Police say Devoe was armed when they arrested him. They also say he has a history of arrests for minor crimes in Suffolk County.
