Suspect charged in Fourth of July deadly triple shooting in North Massapequa

Police say Thomas Massenburg, 20, murdered 21-year-old Rashawn Cummings, of Hempstead, and tried killing another man at a Fourth of July house party on West Drive.

Nearly a year after a deadly triple shooting in North Massapequa, a suspect is now behind bars.
Police say Thomas Massenburg, 20, murdered 21-year-old Rashawn Cummings, of Hempstead, and tried killing another man at a Fourth of July house party on West Drive.
"What happened was a dispute over a female at this party occurred. The individuals were of different factions of groups, words became physical, physical became gun violence," says Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick.
Police say Massenburg was also shot in the incident.
Massenburg is charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bail. He's due back in court Monday.
