Suspect admits to fatal shooting of Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke

The suspect is expected to be held in a state juvenile facility until he turns 25 and could not be charged as an adult under California law given his age at the time of the crime.

An 18-year-old has admitted to fatally shooting Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke.

One of the four suspects connected with the death of the musician, whose real name was Bashar Jackson, admitted to a first-degree murder charge on Friday.

The suspect is expected to be held in a state juvenile facility until he turns 25 and could not be charged as an adult under California law given his age at the time of the crime.

Jackson was 20 years old when he was killed during a home invasion at his residence in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles in February 2020.
