Surveillance video captures suspect stealing FedEx package from Newark porch

Minutes after a FedEx driver delivered a desktop computer to a Newark porch on Sunday morning, surveillance video captured a man stepping onto the property and walking off with the package.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the FedEx delivery occurred at approximately 10:28 a.m. on Aug. 9 at a home on 18th Avenue, between Smith Street and Mead Street.
Just seven minutes later, around 10:35 a.m., surveillance cameras recorded a man stepping onto the porch and taking the package containing the desktop computer before fleeing the area.
Investigators described the suspect as a Black male with a medium build, featuring an unkempt beard and a matted Afro hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a black tank top, black pants, and white sneakers.
