A new program aims to provide services and support for low-income veterans and their families.
Suffolk County leaders and veterans agencies today announced the start of Supportive Services for Veteran Families. The program is funded by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Officials say the goal of the program is to help homeless and low-income veterans and their families find housing.
Veterans can also get guidance filling out the paperwork and can get help with things like child care and transportation.
