The Farmingdale Union Free School District will be bringing counselors back to Howitt Middle School following a fatal bus crash in Ohio.
The superintendent says the Ohio crash, which involved students and killed six people, could reignite the painful memory of those in Farmingdale who went through a similar crash in September.
The Orange County crash that occurred on Sept. 21 claimed the lives of two members of the Farmingdale school community.
In a letter to parents Tuesday, the superintendent said the district will also be postponing its Season of Thanksgiving.
Counselors will be at the middle school Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The counseling center will be open to any student or resident who needs support.
