Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi was sworn in Sunday for his second term in office.
Suozzi beat Republican candidate Greg Peterson in November. During the ceremony, Suozzi reflected on his past term highlighting how he fired 'do nothing' employees, eliminated wasteful contracts, cut work force to smallest it's been in 30 years and initiated smart government reforms. Suozzi says in his second term he plans to fight Medicaid fraud and tackle the high property taxes that are hurting residents.
As for any chance he may run for governor, Suozzi said he's flattered by the rumors but for now he is just focusing on his inauguration and his family.
