A 20-year-old Sullivan County man drowned over the weekend while swimming in Loch Sheldrake Lake.
Police say Erick Perez-Alas was fishing on the lake Saturday when he decided to go for a swim. Witnesses reported seeing him struggling to return to shore and yelling for help. However, those on shore were unable to reach him.
Emergency crews were called and launched a search. Perez-Alas' body was recovered Sunday morning.
The incident remains under investigation.
