Suffolk Sheriff Toulon Jr. credits family and faith to overcome cancer twice

In 1996, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was able to beat that disease, only to be diagnosed several years later with pancreatic cancer.

Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. is a two-time cancer survivor.

In 1996, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was able to beat that disease, only to be diagnosed several years later with pancreatic cancer.

He says he was able to get through both cancer battle thanks to family and faith.

“I think some of the things got me through was one was my faith and my wife and my two children, parents and brother and family and neighbors that really came together as a community,” Toulon Jr. says

This year will mark two decades since the Suffolk County sheriff has been cancer free.
